Simply Natives Plant Nursery is only locally known in Oregon. Here, we strive to conserve and replenish Oregon's native wildlife and you can do it in your own backyard.
Native plants play a key role to the environment. Without them, it’ll make a negative impact on the planet and its inhabitants (people and animals). These plants have evolved and adapted to their local environment overtime. Native plants are mostly seen in the wild, but people do native gardening in their own yards.
Native plants are at the bottom of the food chain. They provide food food and homes for every living creature, native to their ecosystem. For example, pollinators such as, bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies, rely on native plants for food and the plants rely on the pollinators to distribute their seeds throughout the environment. The more native plants and flowers people grow, the more pollinators we have. Another thing about native plants is that since they are acclimated to their local environment, they do not need any toxic fertilizer or pesticides. Native plants also know how to control erosion, like beach grass. They also help reduce people’s carbon footprints and try to control climate change.
